Haven't seen any posts about Oracle lately. Is everyone still happy? - Still got work?

As usual, OTI overhired on the new huge account, so then those MTs have started running out of work. So, then OTI started assigning backup accounts for those MTs and now I have very little work in my accounts. Probably won't be getting in even my minimum line requirements yet again this month.

As the other poster said, the pay is always on time, but that doesn't matter much when there's not enough work to make a decent paycheck.

That's true, for the last 6 mo. I worked there, my $150 check was always on time! - me

I mean, I'm not glad that you're out of work too. But, if a person listens to to what dmz and relieved are posting, one would think that there is a ton of work and their paychecks are sky high. And sadly, this is just not the case from what I can see. OTI overhired and has put too many MTs on the accounts, which leaves little if any work. My accounts are all out of work today too.

I was doing fine with the amount of work I had until this "new account" came on and now is running low on work because they've done it again and overhired, so now they are adding MTs to the other accounts.

OTI doesn't give a hoot about the MTs. All they care about is that the work gets to the client. I was told one time by a supervisor that for them it's the client who comes first.

So to heck with the MTs? Not a place I enjoy working.

In fact, I DID write this, well something very similar, a few weeks ago. I feel very bad for the people that recently hired on, maybe left another job thinking they were going for the great job, well some of us tried to warn you, but others said we were just unhappy people. Maybe now you realize it's not us, it is OTI. I too have been told OTI does not care about the MTs, only the client and so it makes perfect sense why they consistently overhire. I am out of work nearly every weekend and many evenings.

I was "hired" by Oracle.... Signed the contract, printed the training manual, set a training date. Training date mysteriously postponed (this after being told they were flooded with work), only to have the owner then send me an e-mail stating they were withdrawing the contract because they didn't have enough work to keep me busy.

I had read of the problems with the company on this board and thought I'd give them a good faith chance in spite of what I had heard. Should have listened. Fortunately, I didn't leave another job to sign on with them.

What an unprofessional way to do business.

I had an opportunity to work for Oracle but, after numerous warnings from people in the know, I decided not to pursue it. Apparently this company is notorious for no work. What a way to do business. The bad thing is that they are really getting a reputation, and not a good one. Who will want to work for them?

I suspect this would be my dream job, if such a thing exists, if there was only ENOUGH WORK. I really like everyone I have dealt with, I really enjoy the account, the platform is great, pay so far is on time and really fast, and we're just left alone to do our work. At first when I saw we had to have an IM installed, I was a bit skeeved - I've heard horror stories about harassment via IM while trying to work but not so with OTI. If the darned thing didn't pop up, I'd never even know it was there.

It seems like a great, really well run, professional company...If only they had enough work to go around, I'd consider myself having found a new "home."

Also, tis not the case...Not enough work, at least not on my primary or backup accounts.

and I have some good times, albeit short-lived. Nice people, decent (on-time pay), good accounts, etc...all of what you said. But then the work dried up and it was all over. Never got better again. It's really too bad. I quit a job about 3 months into my Oracle career, only to end up with no money and having to move on.

Just don't put your eggs all in one basket, guys.

..well, I'm really close to finishing. It seems as though, based off things said here, I've made a bad decision. Oh well, I'm almost done, so I mine as well finish and sit for the RMT exam. I've been all over the place today, from California to New York and everywhere in between, and not a single report from ANY of my "primaries" ... not even one. There doesn't seem to be ANY rhyme or reason to the type or location of the reports I've gotten ... it's crazy. I'm an IC but I don't work for any company, I have my own clients. One of my clients hasn't paid me since August, claiming a cash flow problem and they stated they "want to pay me asap".
