The good, the bad, the ugly for Global Info Systems? Thank you:)
Not so good! - sm

I will try to give you a couple of good points first, lol, there aren't many. First of all, they DO actually assign specific doctors to specific MTs and you have a 24-hour TAT to get it done, so that would seem to be fair. Pay was late one time in the six months I worked there and they did tell us up front it would be late.
So here are the NEGATIVES and unfortunately they definitely outweigh the good. First of all, they pay 5 CPL for IC. NO, that is not a misprint. When the recruiter tells you this, just as you are about to hit the end button on your phone they tell you that they have 50% pull in lines that you get for FREE, so basically this equals to 10 CPL, thus the incredibly low pay. I promise you this is a LIE. First of all the pull in lines were maybe 10% on my account and the system is so slow and it took so long to pull them in that honestly I could have typed them much faster! The company is ran by former MTs, like this is their FIRST managerial experience and they act clueless as to how the MT profession is. They send daily emails complaining to MTs and then they state often that they are tired of people quitting with no notice and they cannot figure out why. They are MTs, they know EXACTLY why people are quitting, they make NO MONEY, PERIOD.
I would seriously work so hard and would barely make $300 bucks every two weeks. They are nice enough to offer you more accounts if you need more money, so basically work lots more hours for your same minimum wage pay at IC STATUS and that is their solution! It is utterly ridiculous and these ladies who are former MTs should honestly be ashamed of themselves for even working for a company that uses MTs like they do.
I think this job would maybe be a good for a beginner but still it is basically slave wages, and again IC status with no benefits or anything. I definitely learned my lesson on this one!
i actually like it there - MT

I've been there for a few months now. I'm not on the acute care side, I'm on the oncology clinic side, and that might make a lot of difference. I get lots of templates for my doctors and make a lot more than the other poster. I think the acute care has some VR, but not the oncology side; it's all straight typing.
The only complaint I have is the platform. They are still working out the bugs so hopefully that won't be an issue much longer.
My supervisors used to be MTs on the accounts I'm on. The good thing about that is that they are familiar with the doctors. Yes, they are learning the job as they go along, but they do know what we as MTs are going through and they are very nice and always helpful, always quick in responding to questions, and I happen to think they're doing a good job.
Everyone has their own experience no matter where you work. I think a lot of it depends on the work you get and your boss. I happen to feel very fortunate in my situation.
Good luck to you!
Yes, I had oncology as well - sm

I think it would be difficult for ANYONE to make money at 5 CPL, but if you do well, then great for you:)
it may be based on experience, but I have NOTHING negative to say about them - sm

I also made WAY more than that and I was on the acute care side. The only reason I left was because I got an offer for a higher position, which was a step up from transcription and a promotion for me, with another company. I had a GREAT experience with them and had no problems with reprimanding or degrading emails. I was basically left alone to do my work and also worked as an IC, which they also gave me MORE pay for being an IC versus being an employee with benefits. I am surprised about the 5 cents, as again, I was making way more than that and agree could not have worked there for that little amount.
Is there anyone here who is/has worked for Global Information Systems who can tell me what they're like to work for?
I tried to use the search function, but they seem to have changed how the search function works and I'm not coming up with anything at all. ...
Can someone that works or has worked for GIS please explain this to me?
I was offered a position for straight typing at GIS. I was told that the pay is only 5 cpl, despite years of experience. I was told by the recruiter that it is 90% template work and my average pay would be 15 cpl and that is why they could only offer the 5 cpl.
Is this true? I really need a job, but can't imagine how to make money with 5 cpl. ...
I saw a message asking if anyone knew anything about Global informations Systems.
I worked for them in the past. My advice is to not take a job with them. They never give raises and the line count pay is so low it is rediculous. They outsource to India. Lastly the training they provide is nonexistent. You will also not be paid for any testing you perform. ...
Has anyone ever taken a verbal test for this company and, if so, was it difficult? I have never been asked to do a verbal exam before. Would appreciate any input. Thank you. ...
Need recent info on GIS please. Just been contacted by them for an IC position, straight typing @.05 a line! When I asked why so low, I was informed there is a ton of docs, work and a lot of repetition in the templates, so they feel you are getting a lot of free lines! That being said, I'm still shocked that these companies continue to go lower and lower on the line rates! Considering I have been an MT over 20 years, this is crazy to me, but I did read a couple of old posts here that this i ...
I have looked and looked for info on Global Info Systems but do not find anything... good or questionable.
Perhaps they are a good company and nobody comes on to give them kudos?
Please feel free to share if you know about them ...
Just wanted to know has anyone worked for this company. I have been "hired", but have not sent my paperwork to them as of yet. I am unsure about this company. Would love to hear from anyone who has worked for them, and give their input. Also, if anyone else knows of a good transcription company to work for, it would be appreciated. ...
Was wondering if anyone had worked for this company before. They are based in Odessa, Texas I believe. Any and all information is appreciated. I'm new here to MT Stars. Thanks! ...
The statement they posted earlier in MTStars about the Dept of Defense is incorrect. DPTS won the contract. Global is a "subcontractor" of DPTS. Therefore, DPTS is 1 of 4 companies proven, not GIS. Also, it shows on the website that the CEO is Indian and their other office is in India, so yes, it is OWNED by an Indian. Also, they started out in the post stating "THEY" and "anonymous" then put "See you at the conference", etc. Shows that you are the m ...
I am testing with GIS this evening, does anyone have any information on this company.
I am currently working with TTS, they do not even pay 4 CPL for editing. I feel like this business has become a legalized form of slavery. The only business where with over 10 years of experience, your pay goes down. ...
Worked for Superior Global Systems out of Texas 2 years ago--hired full-time, benefits, etc. HR said there was tons of work and that soon the real "floodgates would open" and there'd be even more work on a new account for which they were hiring. Ha! There was no work. Period. Supervisor stated there had just been a "lull" in new account work just as I was hired, but it would be resolved shortly...it was resolved all right--after "working" or scrambling/"fighting" with other newly hired fool ...
Came across this today and wonder what it means for us all:
