Need recent info on GIS please. Just been contacted by them for an IC position, straight typing @.05 a line! When I asked why so low, I was informed there is a ton of docs, work and a lot of repetition in the templates, so they feel you are getting a lot of free lines! That being said, I'm still shocked that these companies continue to go lower and lower on the line rates! Considering I have been an MT over 20 years, this is crazy to me, but I did read a couple of old posts here that this is a great company, so is there anyone that currently works for them that can tell me if this line rate is normal, how they are to work for, etc? Thanks so much in advance!

The platform is cumbersome.

The dictators vary from great to downright horrible and not even a template is going to help you.

I transcribe this account for another company and can tell ya, she's doing NO ONE a FAVOR by ripping them off paying them 5 cpl (Btw, I'm paid 9 cpl to do the same work.)

Thanks so much for your reply, but I've already decided there is no way I'm going to do straight typing for .05 a line! I told her flat out I was shocked at the line rate! Have you worked for them before? Just wondering how you know about their platform, etc. She told me this is a new account they have just gotten and are trying to find people for.

They were brutal with the shift. (I never missed a day, never late, always worked my full shift).

On top of that, I had an obnoxious, rude, condescending TL that cherry picked for her pets. If she did not like you, she was NASTY 24/7 and did all she could to make you look like a jackass and her the queen of the prom. Hated every minute. As soon as I found another job, I left, but still gave notice. To show how rotten M_ _ _ was, my last day, she "directed" jobs to my queue everyone else of the worst transcriptions, worst doctors with defective voice...Since the TAT directly affected her bonus, it took me 4 hours to do 2 jobs totally 10 minutes of transcription.

Even after I quite, M _ _ _ still continued contacting me. I finally told them if it did not stop, I would sue her and them. Aboslute nightmare!

I worked for them for some time. I was paid more than they offered. One thing I hated was this acct was 90% ESL; don't let them fool you. Also, as someone else stated, if you were not one of their fav's then they dumped crappy dictators and work types on you. I'm just telling MY EXPERIENCE.

I sent them a ripping email blasting them about how they are hurting ALL OF US by paying those insulting wages - really let 'em have it. If it wasn't, well, someone else got slammed LOL

The statement they posted earlier in MTStars about the Dept of Defense is incorrect. DPTS won the contract. Global is a "subcontractor" of DPTS. Therefore, DPTS is 1 of 4 companies proven, not GIS. Also, it shows on the website that the CEO is Indian and their other office is in India, so yes, it is OWNED by an Indian. Can someone that works or has worked for GIS please explain this to me? I was offered a position for straight typing at GIS. I was told that the pay is only 5 cpl, despite years of experience. I was told by the recruiter that it is 90% template work and my average pay would be 15 cpl and that is why they could only offer the 5 cpl. Is this true? I really need a job, but can't imagine how to make money with 5 cpl. ...

I saw a message asking if anyone knew anything about Global informations Systems. I worked for them in the past. My advice is to not take a job with them. They never give raises and the line count pay is so low it is rediculous. They outsource to India. Lastly the training they provide is nonexistent. You will also not be paid for any testing you perform. ...

Worked for Superior Global Systems out of Texas 2 years ago--hired full-time, benefits, etc. HR said there was tons of work and that soon the real "floodgates would open" and there'd be even more work on a new account for which they were hiring. Ha! There was no work. Period. Supervisor stated there had just been a "lull" in new account work just as I was hired, but it would be resolved shortly...it was resolved all right--after "working" or scrambling/"fighting" with other newly hired fool ...
