Modern Day Scribe and other companies - Bella

Fellow MTs, please listen up if you don't already know this:  When a company pays "per audio minute," this means the minutes it takes to "dictate," NOT the minutes it takes to "transcribe."  It takes an MT about 2-3 hours to transcribe 60 minutes of dictation, depending on the dictator and issues that may arise with that dictation.  Okay, an MT is NOT getting paid for THEIR  labor of 2-3 hours (120-180 minutes) of transcription; they are only getting paid for the dictator's 60 minutes of dictation.  So, this means that if these companies pay $1.50 "per audio minute," for example, which would be only $90; then they are cheating the MTs anywhere from $90-$180 for the labor it takes to transcribe 60 dictator minutes.  This, I think, would be against the labor laws of any state.  And these companies think they are "paying well?"  LOL  I don't think so.  Please ALWAYS check these companies to make sure you are getting paid for YOUR labor, and not just the DICTATOR'S LABOR.  Don't let these companies get by with ripping you off; you deserve soooooo much better!  Just wanted to point this out to everyone.  :)
