Fellow MTs: Anyone know how to pick out compression - stockings? Even though I ... sm

Posted: Dec 20th, 2024 - 3:36 pm

am no longer an MT (71 years old), I am constantly on my computer for hours at a time, just about daily.  I notice swelling in my ankles after I've been on the computer for 4+ hours straight.  When I elevate my legs on the sofa while watching TV or sleeping in bed at night, the swelling goes away.

I did a Google search, but can't figure out if there is some sort of equation, like if your calf is XX inches in circumference, choose XX mmHg for compression

I dare not bring the subject up at my doc's office because, since COVID, my docs are aggressive at declaring everything a disease process and will look into generating lab tests, office visits, follow-up visits, etc., cha ching.

Thank you in advance.
