nursing is also predominantly female, though they are onsite (not out of mind, out of site like MTs) which I think makes it easier for RNs to organize and band together with the help of union representation.
MTs have long needed representation, but the logistics involved in unionizing have always seemed too difficult to overcome.
This job is incredibly difficult and our knowledge base of all things medical can closely match that of any surgeon, specialist, or general practitioner. We are the ones who catch and correct their errors! So, yes, we have been glaringly unrecognized, underappreciated, and extremely undercompensated for far too long.
