out there. AST is one place that hires newbies. Most of the jobs out there for MTs are editing and not typing, so you won't even have to worry about being a fast typist. The problem is making enough money in this career. When you first start out you won't be making much. Also, there is the issue of running out of work. Most people have to have two to three jobs to make ends meet in this field now.
There are quite a few other jobs you can do from home such as customer service with other companies. This may be something to check into.
