Less than 10 days from application to first deposit - New Retiree

I applied online just before Christmas for retirement social security a few months after I turned 62. I received my first deposit right after New Year's Day. I was pleasantly surprised by how simple and quick the process was. I don't know if things were speeded up because I had received social security benefits on my father's record in high school and college.
