Someone undoubtedly would have let you know this field has been dwindling for 20+ years. Voice recognition (voice wreck) was not the answer to anyone's prayers; it sucks. So do many of the companies that are still around today. You'll be lucky if you can make minimum wage when you first start out, and it does take a while to get acclimated to the accounts you'll be doing. Then, by the time you're used to them, they'll change your accounts. It's really not a good field to be in right now, as you'll be contending with other MTs for the amount of work that's available. If you love the medical field, I'd suggest you become a Medical Assistant. Daughter in law is one and she loves actually being around patients. Good luck with whatever you decide!
