It's entirely possible, so that's a great idea but not a valid safety net either.
I had an account like that years ago; the guy said he loved my work, saved his behind many times by finding his lost reports, etc, etc, but he decided to sell his clinic and me being the MT out of state and not a direct clinic employee was the last to know. Not a word or a hint at any time before that, just the email one day about how he was selling and wouldnt need my services any more after a specific date.
This career has turned to sh * t for everyone. There's no two ways about it.
