No computer skills required - sm

You mention the Registry, but System Restore actually restores the registry to the date of the previous save.

You mention subfolders, you can use common search tools to find files and folders modified after a certain date.

There's no excuse for not knowing basic computer skills (like System Restore, Installing/Uninstalling software, backups, and using Search) when you make your living off your computer.

If you're truly paranoid, and it sounds like you are, you can do a factory restore and restore the system to the way it was when you bought it.

Again, no computer skills required. You can Google these topics and see how to do it. Very easily.

If you somehow managed to get this far in life, supporting yourself using a PC, and never managed to learn these things and don't trust yourself to click something -- even after being educated -- you can take your PC to a tech and ask them to do an uninstall of all software and system restore after the date. It might cost you $50, but that's cheaper than trashing your PC. If your PC isn't worth that much then congratulations! You have something you can learn new skills on.
