if you work for 2 companies that are N contractors. Where I work, we have a few people that work for 2 companies and it isn't an issue. They simply log into whatever account they need. I do know we cannot have 2 HRIDs, but that should not matter.
It sounds to me like it's a contract thing with your particular company.
