The director who hired me could've cared less about contacting Nuance for a reference. There are actually people who don't work in the MT world who know Nuance is a scumbag operation and don't care what they think.
And if you're like me, you might be scared of the kind of reference they'd give you anyway - might harm more than help knowing those jerks!
