No, if we run out of work, we don't get paid. And there is no 401K matching.
We also don't get paid differential pay for weekends or evenings anymore. We still do get holiday pay. Maybe it's more expensive to have to hire and pay supervisors, but they have us in pretty big teams now, with a lot of accounts.
Not sure either why it's cheaper for them to outsource but I guess it must be or why else would they be doing it? I could understand why India might be cheaper paying them 1 or 2 cents per line, but it sounds like ICs make similar to pay to employees, so other than PTO, Social Security, and whatever the company pays in toward benefits, I really don't know.
