Excuse me, but I do not understand. Yes, you had an abusive husband and you got out from under that. Good for you!

I do not understand how you can be too old and not old enough to retire? You can retire as early as 62, and if you are no where near 62 than you really are not that old.

You say you cannot afford counseling, but you can afford to drink yourself to death??? Where do you get the money for the alcohol??? Perhaps, you could use this money instead to buy food for your 3 children!

It is true, I have not walked in your shoes, and just maybe I am being too hard here, but I get the impression you have to much of the "Woe is me," rather than what you can do to help your situation.
