right now. MTs are accepting these horrible conditions and still working for companies like Nuance out of fear of not being able to find other employment even though they've lied about bonuses, refused to pay bonuses.
Plus, people are still training for this job without researching the future of the profession. We keep adding new MTs to the workforce who are willing to work for pennies a line with the hopes of making real money working at home down the line.
MTs need to stand up and stop taking $.06 a line as an IC even when you do leave Nuance.
You're going to find you bring home such little money that you can't afford to pay your taxes down the road and then you're going to be in BIG trouble with the IRS.
Nuance has never intended to be a good employer on their transcription side. The plan all along has been to use MTs to train voice rec, straigten out the kinks in difficult accounts and then outsource and offshore.
It goes in waves. They buy a company after they've outsourced and offshored the accounts from the previous company they purchased. It's a pattern if you pay attention to the boards.
This company has no intentions of any long-term employment for anyone here.
