I would think that a family doc could refer for a regular screening exam. I understand your concern though. If you had it all preauthorized, hopefully that would cover it as a free procedure. My doc says I have to come in every 5 years and so they just tell me not to have it any sooner than that and it is all covered as a screening exam.
