it is discrimination to not hire because of age, sex, etc. why would it be legal to not hire someone based on where they live.

has anyone ever looked into that as far as legalities.

I think it might not be legal because I just asked the person who just sold her company to Nuance if they would hire a person from NY state based on the minimum wage laws, and was told they absolutely WOULD hire someone from NY state.

if they say yes, but then really end up not hiring from NY state (and have no intention) because of some bogus reason, or making you quit or firing you in your 1st 90 days, they must think it is illegal to do this...right?
