Prostitutes work for johns and sell their bodies. The johns make the money, the prostitute makes nothing. MTs sell their skills to companies who make the profit and MTs make nothing. MTs are being used, just like prostitutes. The description is a metaphor for what your profession has become. Look up the definition of metaphor. Apparently, you can't think outside of the box ... oops.
