I think what is happening is so many MTs are looking for the better jobs, that are not VR and since a majority of work is VR, that they just have such a barrage of applicants they shut the job down very quickly. It's a shame and just shows how many people are out there, and the fact that there aren't very many job boards for MTs to look for jobs either.
