I know what you mean about paying someone - StillAnMT

20 some years ago, in my first year as an IC, I had someone do my taxes. I used that as a "template" in subsequent years. About 10 years after that, I decided to have H&R Block do my taxes to see if I was missing something. They charged me $250 and did not find anything new from what I was doing.

Am I missing something here and there? Probably. But I am still further ahead doing it myself rather than paying $250 every year (even though that $250 can be deducted on the next tax return).

If there are any changes to the rules, the IRS sends me a heads-up about those changes for the upcoming year. And they have been very helpful the times I have had to call them for answers.
