rather we have had line rate decreases and a reduction in pay over the last few years. If you were quoted a salary by a school - they lie. They use old labor statistics, not the current pay. Twenty years ago I made 14 CPL. Today I make 8 CPL for straight transcription. There are also duties added to the job that are not paid for at all, such as clicking boxes, researching demographics and doctor names - zero pay but required work. There is no future in MT working for an MTSO. If somehow we can get our accounts back, then we can charge a reasonable rate once again, but I don't see that happening.
