Once you request the money, I believe they have a very very narrow window to cut the check and get it to you.

If you put it into something else, you have a very narrow 10-day window.

If you do not put it into something else, you will, of course, have the taxes taken out, and if you are under 59-1/2 years, 10% penalty.
