Honestly, what job does this to their employees? Check back and then use your own PTO if there isn't any work, that is ridiculous.
I would call the labor board or UE office or somewhere to check on this.
I am an IC so I expect if there isn't any work, to check back, but if I don't want to and there isn't work when I do log on, I don't work, but that is my choice. I can work at will, so sometimes I do work on a Saturday, although not required, but it depends on my lines or if I need some extra cash.
If I were an employee, I wouldn't stand for that OOW stuff for one second without being paid either in UE or minimum wage by the company.
These MTSOs get away with murder. They could care less about us.
Don't let them get away with this abuse.
