Based on your research skills I don't think coding is going to be a good choice for you - sm

Coders have to be really good at doing their own research, not depending on others. That's not working well for you. The degree is probably a good idea for you, but I'm not sure what job that will result in afterward. Anyway, that's just my advice. Forget coding.
