Working in Canada - My opinion

Why would Americans want to work in Canada? How does that affect the US income tax laws? I'm actually surprised that Canadians would not have hiring preference. Oh well, that one trumps keeping the MT program because some doctor's wife might need to know it when she runs her husband's practice.
