volumes are low across the board right now for lots of companies.
I have been doing this for 25 years, and at the sake of sounding like management, I've always experienced the 2-3 weeks at back to school time as being my slowest. When management says they are slow at other times with holidays and stuff, its rarely true, just an excuse, but for back to school time, it usually is slower a majority of the time.
