Transcend Website revised - disappointed

Isn't it nice that they took away our only tool to communicate with our fellow Transcend MLS. The forum is gone. That sure as heck didn't take long. I always thought that we were all very civilized on that forum. Guess they don't want us communicating anymore. Heck, that was sometimes the only place you could get an answer about something. It stinks! Gonna miss that forum.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's not the only thing youre going to miss.

How about pay, self resepect, running out of work then all of a sudden Nuance begging for workers on weekend.

If you were able to communicate with your coworkers, well that would just be bad for Nuance. Their intention is to keep you in the dark. So sorry.

I assumed the pay cut, self respect issues and running out of work were a given. I've already experienced all that. The forum was nice because you found out you weren't the only one in the same boat. It was also a good place to share happy news like babies and weddings and also sad news, deaths, accidents, etc. The feeling of isolation is already bad enough. It's going to be even worse now.

things that would have been kept internally will now be public. What goofy goobers they are to to take the forum down - notice too that's the only change they made to the website and call it an "upgrade."

The FB page is the way to go, and you can make it private/secret settings so it is not visible to anyone not in the group.

I'm not Transcend, I am with another company bought out by Nuance, but we did this and after we added everyone we made it private. It is a lifesaver to have friends to discuss things with and to also post questions and help each other.

I'd like to suggest a forum devoted specifically to options for MTs looking to get out of transcription. Not for discussions of how bad it's gotten, etc., but a place where MTs can share (and easily find) concrete ideas (links, newspaper articles, etc.) for jobs or educational programs that might be a good fit for a new career for a medical transcriptionist. I checked out the NTS India website and was very interested about the pay they quote for an independent contractor. The values are in paise, which convert to 100 in a rupee. A rupee is 0.02 US dollars. For transcribing 30,000 to infinity lines on the day shift one would be paid 200 paise or 2 rupees, which would be 0.04 cents per line US.
