and something the doctor is saying isn't quite clear so I check a sample to see if I can get a little clarification, and I could not believe my eyes.  Now I know the QC says there are mistakes in these samples sometimes so beware, but...nothing could prepare me for this mess.  This note was just littered with errors.  These were errors that I didn't even need to hear the dictation in order to catch, the biggest of which was "the patient's eyes and nose data was...".  Oh. My. Goodness. Gracious. SR types "eyes and nose" all the time instead of "I's and O's," but really, come on! The errors were so numerous and grandiose that this note had to have been typed by someone in India.  It was literally as if this person had never spoken, or heard, a word of English in their life.  This is just disgusting.  Saving the account a few bucks by sending the work overseas are you? At what cost? Now they have a document - and you know there are sooooo many more like this - that needs to be completely redone.  By what stretch of the imagination does this make any sense??

Either ILP or lazy ME getting a really high count. - but...

I worked for TT, who don't offshore, and had the same experience and reaction you did looking at old reports. It was very clear whoever edited those reports hadn't even edited them, just uploaded them as they arrived in their cue. It was so horrific that I actually had second-hand embarrassment for the company. A few times I'd get a report where the dictator had viewed their prior dictation and actually inquired if TT had started offshoring and, if not, they clearly had a bunch of MTs that needed refresher courses. As requested by the dictator(s), I would type their concerns verbatim and send their comment with the job # to the supervisor but I honestly don't think much (if anything) was done about it, sadly, as it continued with regularity.

I was aghast but, like you, I had seen it with my own eyes and knew it was American MTs just hustling to make their line count and not giving a whit about quality. Absolutely mortifying.

crap they have to "fix" at 3 cpl. Maybe it is time to stop covering the ILPs butts. There was a comment on the Nuance board by someone who said MTSOs won't need US MTs anymore because the ILPs are becoming such great MTs. Yeah, right.

At this point, if I get an ILP report, unless it's 100% review (which is rare these days), I just fill in the blank and send it on. I don't look at it more than I have to as I am supposed to do a full review if I find an error outside the blank, still at 3 cpl. I know I'm sending garbage through, but they are paying for that quality and not my problem.

would do the same and just fill in the blanks and send the other garbage through, we might just get our work back in the US. It is worth a try. After all, what do we have to lose that we haven't already lost?

I have worked so hard all day, have next to nil inactive time, and still, barely the minimum line count. DQS is driving me crazy today.  When I push the pedal, it takes a couple seconds to start playing.  If I let off the pedal, it keeps going for a couple seconds and I can't get it to stop.  The typing I am doing does not keep up with my finger speed either, with words not showing up until after I've typed them. I use my own computer and have never encountered this issue before.  It is a major hindrance though, slowing me down. What's next? ...
