POD Pilot Program in North region stinks - ruserious

North region went from 4 accounts, to being tried on this POD Pilot Program and put on at least 10 more accounts, with a few having several divisions.  After 1st week, workload fell way behind, over 1400 reports by this past Friday.  Around 4 p.m. Friday, we were offered OT plus an extra $10/h for Fri, Sat & Sun, but have to work at least 3 hours OT each day.  Interestingly, not told up front, but via email AFTER THE FACT, that the OT pay might be paid on the 2/7/2014 pay, 2 more pays away.  Am I missing a point here as to how this is even legal to delay time worked on next pay and hold it until pay after, rather it be straight time or OT.  How do they benefit from this and how is this even legal.  They're talking about paying us this past Friday, Saturday & Sunday OT pay 2 more paychecks away.

I had over 20 accounts when I worked at M*Modal. Not a good thing. Having so many accounts all over the country + different client profiles + excessive QA is one of the reasons I left. It sounds like the "POD program" involves moving North from 4 accounts to 14. Why does MM do this? MTs will always be more productive on a small number of familiar accounts, which in turn would mean faster TAT, higher accuracy, and more money for the company.

clowns who don't know anything about the MT business. This is such a no brainer but the higher ups at MM just don't get it. My line count has tanked since being on the pod pilot program. I hope they get rid of it soon because it's certainly not working for the benefit of the MT and our accounts have been backed up like crazy with OT offered. I'm not sure if it's because of the pod pilot program or not but I hope so just so they get rid of their newest crappy idea. Do they pay some jerk to come up with this stuff or what?

Paraphasing the email we got about it from, its going to become MModal's future worldwide workflow model. Its being developed to ensure that each HDS and SHDA receives a steady flow of work in which they are proficient. It focuses on providing each HDS and SHDA with a larger pool of work.

So when this started earlier this month, we received work through the Pod workflow model. Essentially that meants that we no longer see work at our previous primary grouping level before other work within your work pool. All work will flow by time to service level agreement and will route to individual specialists within that pool.

So in my particular case I went from one BOB that had 4 facilities to now a total of 10 different facilities, some of which that had multiple locations.

My production went down the first week dramatically. While the client profiles are not that difficult and they are trying to stream line them more, I still am double checking everything to make sure its done right.

I think its a mistake and will hurt quality and of course kill our productivity more, thus causing lower paychecks.

This must be only an eastern region thing for now because I'm in the western region and haven't heard a word about this yet.

I actually wouldn't mind it, the work type I'm most proficient at is one that not many people do. I zip right through them while other people beg not to have to do them at all so this might work out well for me.

accounts. This means spending a lot of time reading CPs, learning new dictators, being set up by MM for errors which we know aren't allowed with our 99.8% accuracy requirement. Line counts plummet because of new accounts and the reading of CPs. It's all set up to lower the MTs line count and increase our chances of error. The MModal way, of course, because it NEVER benefits the MT and sets us up for failure.

I'm not asking this to be facetious, but have you guys NOT been working many different accounts until now? A few months back when the work load was divided into just 2 regions east and west, the entire western division opened up and now I get reports anywhere from WA state down to Arizona and over to Colorado. That's MANY different states, dozens of accounts, all with different profiles and work types.

So, I'm just curious because those of you who are on this "POD" program are posting like you've only been on a couple of accounts and now being on many is kind of new to you. I didn't think there were any employees left in this company working "primary accounts". I haven't had a primary account for over a year now.

go down? If MM wants us to type more lines then they should keep MTs with 1 or 2 primary accounts. Any idiot knows this. All they keep doing is adding more and more accounts. With this pod program, I now have 30+ accounts where before I had 2-3 main accounts that kept me busy. If the MT typing more makes more money for MM then why don't they stop messing around with stupid things like pod programs? This company never makes any sense. EVERYTHING they do seems to hurt the MT.

I thought everyone KNEW that once they did this, it was going to open up the work pools so that we would all be getting work from all over our respective region. For instance, my region isn't just my little accounts in "California" anymore, it's the entire "western region". I haven't had primary accounts in forEVER now. And for those complaining about 14 accounts ... really? I would give anything to only have 14 accounts. I have at least 3-4 dozen accounts - at least.

I thought everyone knew by now this was the new work model for M*Modal, there was an email sent out about it months ago. Why did anyone in the north region think they were exempt, have they been living in a cave?

for a surprise when the pod program comes your way. The team I am on is doing the pod pilot program, and by "pilot" that means they are testing it out on our team first. This is not being done across the entire country yet or even just a region, it is just a team pilot program right now. I'm assuming they will be implementing it across the board eventually, although I am emailing my TSM with complaints against this pod program and hope they will get rid of it, but I have my doubts. I think they plan on pushing this through no matter what. It's all about their TAT.

It wasn't 3 hours OT per day, but at least 3 hours over the period of the incentive, Friday through Sunday. I do agree the Pod system stinks; my line count went down all all last week, hence, that's why I chose to work a few hours overtime this past weekend to make it up. I hope they realize it stinks and get us back on our usual accounts we know so well.

Exactly as described. I had 4 primary accts that kept me in work, knew all the CPs, love OP reports, never had NJA until Christmas. They claim North region will be the guinea pigs. They know this will lower our pay and lines. I worked OT as well to help make up difference in lines for the week. One acct has many divisions that consists of what I hate...LETTERS with no ADT, enter manually. I'm not seeing it go by time or WT in particular but never paid much attention, too busy scanning through client profile. I don't know why they have this idea that we're privileged to participate in a prog that lowers our pay. I'm sure it somehow means more money in their pockets. Holding bonus pay, of course they are, they want to make you suffer. I think our YET ANOTHER NEW TSM joined her groups with ours...just my opinion. Might not be the case though. Every single time we have a new TSM, either they want schedule changes or they change your work pool. I've had more than 4 major accts before and it's just not productive, but that's what they're counting on. I still feel our bonus for Fri-Sun should be paid on same pay we worked to acquire it.

REJECT the 10 bucks an hour they offer and let them flounder..I know the money is tempting. I fell for it this weekend too, my dogs need to go to the vet...But then you get the after the fact, not sure when the money will be paid BS..I'm done, I work my days and my days only..

... the way of all the other people here complaining to the moon about making no money, being out of work, never being offered incentives, and all the other myriad of complaints that are on this board daily. I for one would be ALL OVER THAT program.

I hope they bring this "POD program" out west, it's been YEARS since MM has offered any kind of bonus money or extra incentive and they have always been VERY good about paying in when they say they will. One week, two weeks, it doesn't matter, I'll wait. I'm a single mom with mouths to feed, I'm definitely not going to turn down a chance to boost my pay check just so I can make some kind of ridiculous "point". When my kids are hungry, I WORK. Period.

I say bring that program out west, shoot, we'll make quick work of those 14 little accounts and $10/hr extra you all are complaining about. Holy crap, what a bunch of spoiled brats!

Do be careful what you wish for. If you got such a program, you will notice a difference in your line counts for a few weeks and this $10 an hour was just this past weekend, not a continuous incentive. I had to work overtime this past weekend to make up what I lost in production over the week to take care of the needs for my family. Not spoiled here, hard worker, but want fairness and this Pod model in my opinion is not fair.

If my line count dipped a little I'd still be fine, and a $10/hr extra incentive would sweeten the deal. Putting in an 8-hour day on a Saturday? Heck yeah I'd do it, that's an extra $80 on top of my production.

I say BRING IT. I could use the extra income, you won't hear a single complaint out of me.

If you feel the need to state how much you "supposedly" produce per pay period, I say prove it or shut up. What do you want, a pat on the back, really? Do you think we believe you or even care. Edit/type 375-400 lph on 40 accounts LMAO. If that is the case, then you need to find employment elsewhere that pays better for that speed reading/editing. Hope you never edit one of my medical reports, probably full of errors. Quality versus quantity, which is more important.

and my supervisor's BOB has been pretty much empty for really the last month or more.  I have had maybe 10 jobs of my primary, secondary and so on accounts that Im familiar with for at least 2 weeks.  When I do get jobs from these accounts a lot of them have been hard to hear (background noise and such), some of the ASR reports have been horrible with a lot of added words and whole sentences left out.  This is crazy. On your average day, 5000! Now, 70. I get that its a holiday, but I have run out for 3 weeks now. TSM said they over-hired and work went to India.. well, then get rid of the new hires already. This is ridiculous. Why would they hire more when they planned to ship more work overseas? Is this to train the new hires becuase they make so much less than some of us who have been here awhile? At this point, I dont believe there will be pay cuts, I think they will just starve out the ones making a high ...

Here is an article that talks about 401K. Mmodal's 401K plan stinks. "The most common 401(k) employer match is now dollar-for-dollar for the first 6% of income that an employee defers."
