No more partial UE - wiscomt

Am I correct here that we can no longer collect partial UE because our NJA option for release from work with no pay has been taken away, leaving us ONLY the option to work or take PTO?  How clever of them.

It really seems to me they need to make it official by changing the policy on MQ Central, and I haven't checked but is the option to take off without pay still available on Remedy? Is the Excused Absence No Work option still available on Teamwork?

I really think this is a half-baked idea that will not work, and they will probably figure that out this next week with the holiday.

Oh, they revised it alright; not even a month after the last time. Now the only 2 options for NJA are make up time or take PTO. Nice, huh?

All I can say is I am FT with benefits and this new policy terrifies me. These corporate weasels are waiting the first week I don't make my 39 to take my benefits, after of course they have stolen my PTO. At least with no pay I could take unemployment and keep my benefits. Now I just don't know.
Who cares about the MQ website. If it is still an option on remedy that is - all you need

Excused Absence - No Pay says you can chose this ONLY if you do not make up your hours the day you submit the ticket and chose to make them up another day in the pay period. It sucks!

Just fill out a remedy ticket and put NJA and if they don't like that, then let them lay you off. No get ue that way. I am not playing their games. I know my legal rights.

Stay punched in and logged in! When we fall below minimum wage, they can reach into their deep, overflowing pockets and pay us makeup pay. That way we are not having to work beyond our shift!

really think UE is going to deny you benefits because this company wants you to work 24/7 or use your PT time? They are not clever, they are trying the fear factor and it seems like it is working. I will continue to take the time unpaid, with or without excuse, and keep claiming my UE. I will not use PT time or work 24/7.

Any first year business student will tell you that..They signed us up for shifts, they made it mandatory we have that stupid time clock. They have to 1. Provide us with work. 2. Make it an OPTION to take leave without pay or PTO. 3. Compensate us for sitting idle in front of a computer.

You seriously think they can say,,ooops there is no work at 8:30 if you happen to have NO leave (like many) you HAVE to make that time up within the day OR have move your schedule around the TSMs whim and prayer that there will be work another day..I THINK NOT...time to fight. I just talked to my local labor board rep and he asked me to find out what happens if we are not able to get the time in. He was saying something about, "well, when there's no work you are free to do whatever you want" but I don't think he fully grasped the situation.

I was trying to figure out who to contact about this..What exactly do they do for you? I assume the only ones that this NJA rule thing will really affect negatively are the ones that take bennies from the company. A lot don't but as a group, we need to fight this.

Know your rights...and the company's obligations. It's that simple. They'll do anything to save a buck - even if it means creating hardship (or outright destroying) their employees in the process.

They have spun this web very very tightly. It appears that quite a bit of thought was put in to screwing us and tying it in a neat bow.

Now they only have to pay for 6 minutes instead of 15 minutes, a greater than 50% cut in the amount of money they spend on wages.

They "require" you to "make up the time", telling you that you must spend the next 24 hours trying to "make up" your time. Now, they are making sure they have coverage and everybody isn't taking off because they filed NJA.

They have fixed it so that, if there is NJA, you have to use your PT which benefits them emensely as your TSM (or whatever their new abbreviation is) will be able to (and will) deny requests for vacation as "you have no PT, so you must make it up or not take the day off". I am only part time, and the vacational accural is ridiculously slow, and I have been told that I can't have such-and-such day/s off because I have no PT time left! And, I never used my PT for NJA unless I was desperate for some pay.

I can't wait until I finish school at the end of the year and am out of here. I have never ever wanted to escape a job before. Maybe want to find better pastures, but never wanted to flee a company. This is the worst feeling ever. A job opportunity did come up for what I am studying, but it is an area of the field that I absolutely do not want to participate in because of the people I would be working with.

a choice. It's my PT and I'm not using it for that. You go ahead and do what you must do, but I'm not using my time. I'm still taking the time without pay, with or without their approval. I'm not working 24/7. They can't take your PT time without your approval.

They can only get away with what you let them. I put in NJA and get my partial UE. If they don't like that, then guess what...lay me off. I am not quitting.

The fact of the matter is, it is illegal and you will get u/e. If you are naive enough to not get partial u/e, MM is sure not going to tell you about it. I am still collecting and plan on doing so until they can provide me work and I am not working all day. If there is no work, I do NJA and put in on my timecard. It isn't my fault there is no work. If they don't like it, they can lay me off and pay me u/e for up to a year.

I think all dictations at Nuance should be partial dictation worktype. Wtih "partial dictations, you don't have to do as much checking of demographics, figuring out date of service and filling that in, etc., and not having to pend and leave comments so mcuh. I notice I'm about 75 lines faster an hour when it's partial dictations because there's less outside-the-report activity to be done. This is extra activity we dont' even get paid for. After all, MTs are only paid ...
