How do you obtain partial unemployment? I always thought you had to be completely unemployed?!!? Please advice. In this biz I could use all the financial help I can get.

you can apply for partial unemployment due to lack of work. You have to report how much you make with what work you have done and I guess they base if you are elligible for partial unemployments benefits based on that. I am just going to give it a try and see what happens. Been on for 4-1/2 hours now without 1 job coming through.

Your UE is based on what you made the same quarter a year ago. So if your employment status has not changed, you are an employee, and your work load through no fault of your UE, I was told I had to pay back all the money :) Thankfully, I fought it, the company did not, and PA went after ME to collect the money leaving me out of it.

and would be eligible, though probably not for much as I work part-time but the part-time work was even drying up. I talked to someone on the phone and then went to the website in my state... definitely. I refuse to sit there waiting for jobs. My MTSO does not pay me for that, only production.

I live in Indiana but worked for a company in Michigan. I lost my job and filed in Michigan. You have to file in the state the company is because your employer pays into unemployment in their state, which is what your eligible for. I applied and received full unemployment. I recently got a part-time job, and I still get partial benefits since I am not full time. I need all the help I can. I have a part-time job to help me, but I still don't have full-time hours, so I may as well get what I can.

I looked at their unemployment benefits website and it looks like if you work at all in a day you are considered to have worked that day and you can only get partial unemployment if you work less than 4 days a week? Has anyone applied for partial unemployment and if so, were you able to get it? All I ever get is NJA and I'll be damned if I am going to use all my PTO or sit by this computer 24/7. I just got off the phone with our local UE office, and the rep informed me that there's no such thing as partial UE in my state (Louisiana). I think all dictations at Nuance should be partial dictation worktype. Wtih "partial dictations, you don't have to do as much checking of demographics, figuring out date of service and filling that in, etc., and not having to pend and leave comments so mcuh. I notice I'm about 75 lines faster an hour when it's partial dictations because there's less outside-the-report activity to be done. This is extra activity we dont' even get paid for. It was only 2 sentences long, so wasn't too much to count, but the total characters divided by 65 was equal to 10.8 lines. My first question is whether there is pay for partial lines?
