M-Model take good care of their transcriptionists? - me

So does M-Model take good care of their transcriptionists?

The good ones...Yes I think so - nm

I agree.....that's why they don't post on this... - chancesare

site, i.e., not get bombarded with hate mail if you are doing well. That is just my experience. It may not be yours but I assure you, it is mine. I made the huge mistake of coming on here a couple times in the past and when I stated I liked working here and I had work, wow, the ceiling caved in on me, accusing me of coming on here and "rubbing it in" which, after I reread it several times, was NOT the case. I was sharing but no one believed me.

Having work is now the luck of the draw. If you're lucky enough to - sm

be in a BOB that has work, just be thankful while it lasts rather than thinking you did something special...
Now, that was not a nice thing you said to... - none
[ In Reply To ..]
the poster. "...be thankfyul wile ....rather than thinking she did something special"...how mean are you! You know, you got in your own way with that response. You proved her point....jeeze....
What? But it was a nice thing for the OP to say - that only the good ones are taken care of?
[ In Reply To ..]
That was uncalled for!

Yes, people with work should be grateful, not mean spirited and saying they have work becuase they are "GOOD" and implying the rest of us are "NOT GOOD."
You missed the whole point...here again. - noneya
[ In Reply To ..]
putting words in other's mouths. "Implying..." and where was it IMPLIED that "rest of us are "not good". NO WHERE...
I missed nothing - playing on words doesnt change it
[ In Reply To ..]
So what does saying "the good ones are taken care of" mean?

That means the "not good" ones are not taken care of.

So, if you have no work, you are not taken care of, so you are not good.

I IMPLIED NOTHING!
It's the truth. Entire BOBs either have work or don't. It's not - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
how good or bad of an MT you are, it's which BOB you're in. Luck of the draw.

I guess I am a real piece of poop then - thank you

I did nothing to deserve having no work for months and months. I have been a loyal, dedicated employee for over 17 years now. I work the holidays, I work the weekend shift, I have worked OT whenever offered. Yea, I must not be a good one. I must be the bottom of the barrel!

did you inquire as to why this is the case? - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
If your work hours are cut, you can collect partial unemployment.
Of course I inquired as to why I have no work - fallen on deaf ears
[ In Reply To ..]
Yes, for the past 4 months I have complained and I have gotten every excuse under the sun, but told to hold on, it will get better.
I hope you have saved those emails - print them out - and put them in a file...
[ In Reply To ..]
find an mmodal-is-hiring advertisement, print that out, and add it to the file.

By the way: if you complain, you get an exxcuse. If you ask a question, you might get an answer.

Not sure what you mean - but.......

[ In Reply To ..]
If you work your schedule, make your production and produce reasonably good quality reports, nobody will be on your case.

HOWEVER, if cutting our pay to edit ASR crud is taking care of their good transcriptionist, then NO, they do not.

End of story.

How do you define good care? - old and burned out

[ In Reply To ..]
All through these months/years of discussion about no work, I have had work. However, though I am flexible part-time now, I was a full-time employee (through buyouts) for over 30 years and have been at this over 40 years. Yes, my rate is higher than the starting rate but certainly not 40 years higher. The official policy is 5 unpaid days off a year. Where can you go in 5 days? If I take a sick day, I am told to make it up by working evenings or nights just like someone who has just started. In most occupations those with seniority get preferred hours. Is this your definition of good care?

they pay lip service - a lot of talk with one exception

[ In Reply To ..]
We have meetings a few times a year and get emails about how wonderful we are, how much they appreciate us, how hard they are working to fix problems and make this a great place to work, and how great everything is going to be, and yet the problems remain unfixed. People have no work. People don't hear from their supervisors. People can't put food on the table. And people can't access their email half the time! The one and only thing they have done is give us very reasonable insurance premiums, and I hope they at least continue that.

Actually, it's the good ones that get crapped on the most. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
The good ones get the hardest accounts and are held to a higher standard overall because they've proved themselves.

When training new QA, they are usually placed on the accounts of the "good ones" so your QA scores drop due to their learning curve and you spend way too much time disputing feedback.

Look at how well the transcriptionists in India are treated.

Yes, yes, yes...finally, true words..no message - none

Can Anyone Suggest A Good MTSO With Acute Care Work?
Dec 16, 2011

Over 28 years experience, about 26 years of acute care.  Now doing clinic work, which is kiling me financially! The reason I'm in clinic work is because I was a Spheris employee and former MQ, but did not want to go back to MQ when they bought Spheris.  I am now doing mainly VR clinic work and obviously, it's killing my paycheck. I am quite sure even VR acute care would be better, but I would prefer straight transcription or majority of it transcription. I would work evening ...

"take Good Care Of Our Patients" BARF
Mar 04, 2015

Have a good TSM, so I shouldn't complain too much.  But getting sick and tired of comments about taking care of our patients, thanking us for quality care of patients, etc.  I know she realizes we are all concerned about our paychecks right now as much as anything else.  Not that we don't give a darn about quality, but we are after all working to try to make a living.  Corporate is just shoving this quality crap down our throats every chance they get.  I am sur ...

Another Sad Option For Medical Care Is Charity Care. Work With The People

Most Saint hospitals and others actually operate as non-profits, and for what they are screwing us over in taxes unpaid, they can afford to help out folks with their bills and still give their CEOs generous stock options and obscene salaries! But, you have to ask for this after your visit, treatment, x-ray, or ER visit. ASK for help if you need it. It is not our fault that suits are in charge of medical care in this country.  ...

Transcriptionists With ADD.... I Think Im One Of Them!
Feb 10, 2010

make a living being an MT?  In addition to how low our pay has gotten, and the myriad other problems that we all deal with, if you can't focus, do you think that is cutting into your finances as well? I've always had a suspicion that I have ADD.  Was a totally hyper kid.  Daydreamer in school.  High IQ (148), labelled as "gifted" in 1st Grade, yet with each passing year did less and less well in school.  Looked out the window and zoned out more than I paid att ...

Ever Forget How Much Transcriptionists Really Know?? Sm
Feb 25, 2010

I am training someone and I am now reminded how far I have come, how much I have learned, and the things I take for granted and assume others know.   Basic things, just proper English, not even taking into consideration the medical terminology.  Knowing whether a sentence makes sense or not.  We really should be paid better.  But it is nice to feel smart sometimes....and you know anyone who can do this job really does have to be pretty darn intelligent.   Fello ...
