II'll probably fail the Medquist test today again - Bree

I took the Medquist test again today, but I don't expect the perfection they seem to demand. I actually got an RLP (real live person) at Medquist to speak to me about testing 2 weeks ago. She was a little help. She said they have 1,000 take the test monthly so no wonder they are not interested in any particular transcriptionist. I suspect, though, that only 20/1000 pass it. I actually worked for Mx for 7 years part-time, and I love their platform.

I need your help: Are there any other companies whose platforms you love? And any companies that you can recommend for taking and passing their tests? What is your own experience? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Bree

You have to be the one and only person I've ever known that actually worries about NOT getting hired with Medquist. The rest of us seem to be trying to escape the hell-hole. I don't know that many people who would willingly run full sprint into it.

I procrastinated a long time before taking the Medquist test. I talked to the recruiter and decided I didn't want a schedule, and took tests with different companies, including Soft Script. (I didn't like their schedule they wanted me to work.)

Then later I decided to take the test with Medquist. It was really hard. I remember there were 4 individual tests, and the last one, I was really lagging. It was a cardiology test. After I finished, I left so many blanks at that one test, that I figured they would never hire me. SURPRISE. They hired me. They called me back, and I was able to get a schedule suited to my needs. They allowed me to work evenings with the exception of Wednesday from 2-6.

has NOTHING to do with whether you pass a test or not. They don't care that much about quality. Like the poster said below, she was hired and was sure she failed the test, which she quite possibly did. It just depends on who is willing to work for how little and the schedule that they want.

I'm sorry but I highly doubt there are 1000s of applicants every month. NOT LIKELY. One of the "reasons" MQ uses as an "excuse," to off-shore so much work is that they don't get enough MTs in the US applying. If they really had 1000s a month, it wouldn't be a problem.

It's ALL about money and greed on MQ's part. So don't feel bad about not passing their "test." It most likely has nothing to do with your work but rather you might want a schedule they don't agree with or you may be asking too much per line......

I applied for a position with MQ yesterday and they asked me to test almost immediately. I just completed the testing. I didn't think it was all that difficult. What are the odds that they will hire me? Do they really look at the test? Just wondering. Really need a job right now.

Last year I failed an audit, barely and was out on 100% QA for 6 weeks after 1 email from TSM and no responses afterwards until suddenly I was off and back to regular work. Later I was transferred to another TSM. Wednesday I got an email that after multiple complaints from a specific doctor, all his reports were 100% QA and my report had failed the audit (barely). I had 2 jobs that were both 100 and then I had a failed job on some account that I have never typed on before ~ foreign doctor. The errors were marked as noncritical errors.
