I cannot believe this crap, it's like they had not one MT - try this new platform out

before they sprang it on us..and why?? It's not a program for MTs..it's a database and billing program.THAT is the primary reason for this. So far I have not utilized the quick report look up ONE time..and as for google..I already had my google browser opened at the ready.

I cannot capitalize first words in new sentence in paragraph. and yet my toggle is on. but at the start of a new paragraph your space bar does not work.

I cannot easily look up ref MD or dictator for MD to add to Info screen. I have to click on the blue icons to bring up the physician look up screen.

I cannot turn off the bullet points unless I manually go in an undo the numbered list..for chrissakes..even Word lets you hit enter two times to get out out of bullet.

I HATE having the panels on the side. I feel like I am typing a figging grocery list.. and yes..I am hiding at least one of the panels..but's not enough. I have no need to see the patient demongraphics the entire time I am editing a report.

The expansion Ctrl E is completely messed up. You cannot simply ctrl E and bring up expansions and then start typing letters to have the expansion start populating alphabetically what your letters. AND if I have a long expansion it is now in the vertically instead of horizontally so I cannot see my shortcuts above and below. AND I cannot use my arrow keys up and down to navigate through expansion list. I have to tab 3 times to get into the screen before I can use my arrow keys.

Is it only me??

I printed out the keyboard shortcuts and did the last 3 training videos the day before our team started and took very extensive notes.

I know it seems time consuming, but you will never be proficient in a program if you do not know how to use it properly.

I did not like it for the first couple of days, but it really is using the shortcut printout and retraining your fingers just a little bit. By the third day, I had it down. Most of the shortcuts are the same.

There are a few quirks, especially the first letter of sentence not capitiziling with a 1-letter expansion, such as T for the, but that is something adaptable until it is fixed. ASR leaving out every single comma is very, very annoying, but again, adaptable until it is fixed.

I was pretty pissed the first couple of days, but it is what it is. You will get it. Just hang in there and again, be sure you know how to use the program. That is the key.

I've noticed when I cope a phrase from the body or a word I had to look up and paste it further down, there are only single spaces it it. I don't do it very often, but I think the next time I will just leave it!

I worked a lot faster on 6.1. I find all of these keystroke combinations confusing and don't really see how any of it is faster.

This sounds something like Cornerstone that Spheris used. I couldn't believe how horrible it was and of course, they sang its praises like we would be making $50 an hour. You're right, not made for transcription and not made by anyone who transcribes; just tech people or billing people or whomever. I never got the hang of it and just gave up and quit. They are truly killing us slowly but surely with all of this stuff!

I used to work for Spheris, and when I saw the headings on 7.1 the first thing I thought was it looks just like Cornerstone. I would give anything to have TWS back.

I KNOW! That was the best system ever and actually when I worked for MQ, their system was decent as well. I think that was the beginning of the end for me as far working for the larger companies. I'll take my smaller companies, straight transcription, no voice and rather outdated software any day; well one isn't that outdated. At least I am not losing my mind and for some reason, I have no problem with QA, while with MQ, I was busted almost every day! Imagine?

...but even so, I didn't find it that difficult to get used to 7.1. That's not to say it doesn't have its quirks and annoyances, but they all do. I got back up to speed, such as it is, pretty quickly. When I had to use the old DQS system awhile back for an outage, I realized how much I preferred the new one.

No, I'm not management and have no wish to be. I'm part of the beta team. It's not perfect, and Lord knows we sent in enough reports to blanket the earth, but I actually do like it.

I use Instant Text to make macros for most of the functions that are not efficient. I use the keystrokes to enter the macros that I was using when I was on Cornerstone to do the same functions since they are already programmed into my brain.

About this monitoring crap. Why aren't the docs monitored? Why do we have to change our ways and they don't have to. On ASR there are a couple of docs who dictate in the "wrong order" and I have to move everything around, cut and paste, do the caps thing, etc. Almost all of them dictate in the order of the standard headers. I just love all these minor errors of missing an - "of" or "a" at 0.25. This does not change the meaning of the sentence, and I bet if you put them in when they are NOT there, you would get marked off for that too. My company just told me they were trying to bring on some projects where there would be multiple people speaking, like in a conference/meeting, about healthcare. I quit in early 2014 because there was a sudden switchover of doctors in the acct I was typing, and they were the worst I've ever encountered. The sound quality was atrocious at Nuance. It was like scraping the bottom of the barrel. I work for a different company now that doesn't make you jump through stupid FIESA hoops, etc, and it's nice.
