Let me tell you what you already know--MTtoCoding doesn't like us - or anything else

Let's sum it up briefly.

MTtoCoding doesn't like us one bit. She also doesn't like being here. It causes her distress, just like her university and the instructor from her university did. We are all losers.

Continued.

We are bad, the MT board is bad also, her university is bad, the teacher is really, really bad, credentialed teachers stink, work experience is a bad idea for teachers to have, etc.

She just dropped in to tell us about a great new coding course.

When she didn’t get the rip-roaring reception she wanted, she realized that we are not nice.

She already knew that because she used to come to the MT boards, but the MT boards were nasty, so she stopped coming here.

She just came here this time to promote a really great new coding course. She likes something!

She really didn't like that stinky university that we all love and the even more stinky teacher, but no problem, because she didn't listen to the stinky old teacher anyway. She found her own teachers who were not stinky.

However, she made her way over here and we are stinky, just like the university and the instructor from the university.

She doesn’t like us at all. We’re really, really bad.

This is a bad place, although many of us thought it was pretty nice until this week, about the time this conversation started.

More about the stinkiness of the coding course she attended. She attended a state-of-the-art university coding course that all of us love.

She hated it.

She doesn’t like people with credentials---or coding jobs---she has neither.

She knows better than the university about what good instruction is.

She doesn’t think on-the-job coding experience is a good thing for teachers.

We are bad.

Her university is bad.

Her teacher was bad.

We’re really, really bad.

Now can we get back to the normally pleasant discussions we are used to having on here?

You've bullied us for months, coming in with your comments about how we are all going to lose our jobs to India, etc. Every time someone is happy, like the person who is excited to be starting her new career, you have to bring everyone down to your level. Of course it hasn't been pleasant for you. You aren't a pleasant person on here. I don't know what you're like elsewhere, but here, you are known as Downer Debbie and other names. Bringing people down is what you do for fun. A pleasant atmosphere makes you unhappy for some reason.

I don't use that term but I know others have. Whatever the term, you like to bring us down. I don't think anyone pays much attention to you, which is probably another reason why you say that your experience hasn't been that pleasant.

This is absolutely my last post here, however, I would sure appreciate it if you'd just get things right. First I didn't come here promoting any program, I simply commented when many of you seemed to be beating up on the person who did share it.

Frankly nobody's ever asked me if I work as a coder, if I have a credential, or anything else on this site. You all are too busy being stuck in your negativity about something you just don't like.

And yes, I don't see the coding board here as much different than the MT boars, where people come with something they're excited about and everyone else tries to tell them they are stupid or don't know what they're doing. I really had hoped that coders were more encouraging to each other than MTs seem to be, guess that's not true. Or perhaps it's just the folks that spend their time on this particular site as there are other sites where it's not like this. At any rate, I'm done with the pettiness of this site. Glad you guys have so much time on your hands to berate each other. I've got better ways to spend my time.

I think we've heard the swan song speech before, so I don't think she's gone. I would be sorry to see her leave though, because she has been entertaining to watch, especially the insults she throws at her instructor. What was it she said about her again? I wonder what her instructor's side of that story would be if she were here to defend herself. Oh! There's also the part that she put together her own set of instructors because the pathetic (well-known and respected) university had chosen such losers. Why? It's those dastardly credentials that made them so bad, you know. That's the first thing you should ask when considering a school. Do the instructors have credentials? If they do, you need to go elsewhere.

I read her messages as being from someone who is probably a very nice, probably fun-loving person. She sounds a little naive and vulnerable, getting a little too emotional, but probably sincere, while definitely in a topic that's way over her head.

If she stays in the business, and it sounds as if she bounces around a bit, she may mature up over time and lose that part that's a little too silly. She just jumped into a discussion pretending to be an expert when she isn't qualified to speak with such certainty. Let her get some years, some experience working as a coder, maybe some credentials, and she'll be able to discuss things more rationally. Maturity does that.

She's probably just one of those people who requires lots of attention. She just has a low level of coding expertise to be talking as such an expert. That part about replacing her instructor with her own self-selected teachers was a riot! She might have learned enough to get those credentials she hates so much if she had let her college-appointed instructor do the teaching rather than her friends.

I never said a word about India, you have me confused with someone else. I was told I must be mentally defective or have numerous personality flaws because I said I was having trouble finding a coding job w/o experience.

I would say that the first thing anyone needs to do is get a really solid coding education that prepares you for both the CPC and the CCS. Then get those credentials as quickly as you can. The next thing you need to do is not give up on the job search. If I remember right, you said there are no hospitals or other medical offices where you live. That's a problem. It seems like you said there was one hospital though. I wouldn't give up on that one after you have the credentials. Credentials mean everything in coding. Credentialed coders are respected, regardless of the amount of experience. Of course the experience plus credentials means you'll be hired faster. When there are no experienced, credentialed coders applying for a job, the credentialed new graduates are next on the list to be considered. If you give up, you won't get anywhere and might as well just find another career where you get a job the first day you go out looking for one. Most careers are not like that. You have to spend weeks or even months looking. A good idea is to work at it 8 hrs/day just as you would if you were working.

Get serious about the education.
Get serious about the credentials.
Get serious about the job search.

That isn't an insult to you in anyway. It's just a good plan. Now if you come back with the 'yes, but...' routine that many people have going for them, we can talk about personality and character flaws. LOL.

Rapid Outsourcing Imaging hired me to work the weekend graveyard shift. Their transcription platform does not refresh itself, and there is very little work. What work does come in has an almost immediate TAT, so you are expected to sit in front of your pc for a 10-hour graveyard shift constantly refreshing your screen to check for work. This is a two-sided message. It is painfully obvious that no one is learning anything from having failed audits. This being said, I think there are a few sides to this. First, the error weights are harsh for a lot of small errors. Second, the error weighs are not harsh enough for other errors. Just finished a report on a new account..Doc racing through. Cannot understand what she said, so go into docqumanage for similar reports. Obviously people are just cutting and pasting because the name that you have in there for that camera (5 reports) does not exist in medical terminology..But when you slow down and listen to it a few times, what she says is one of the standard lap camera sizes..Dang and I failed an audit for leaving off a letter and adding a word... ...

I'm trying to get an answer from my CCM regarding foreign doctor's dictation and this 5% QA submission. I type for two separate teaching hospitals and are constantly getting new foreign doctors, 3/4s of which cannot even speak English. I won't matter if I got copies of every single report they dictate, there would be no way not to send these reports to QA....are we getting any kind of special consideration towards our QA submissions for these doctors?
