Anyone else having problem with shortage of work at FutureNet?

This is a common occurrence. I would assume most MTs/MEs work part time and work multiple accounts. Even so, there are many times when there is no work available during your selected shift. Although the company requires a shift each weekend, that is always the time with the lowest available work. This makes no sense. Where is the work from these acute care facilities?

Today is the end of the pay period and only 2 more checks before Christmas. Everybody is in there sucking up the work. Tomorrow there will be lots of work. If the lazy ones would work during the whole pay period and not just at the end we'd all have a more equal distribution of work.

I have suggested staggering the pay periods, half the employees ending one week and half the next, but no go. Makes too much sense, I suppose.

Here I am sitting on my shift of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.EST and am looking at almost no work until 3 a.m. my time when it is midnight on the west coast and the pay period is officially over. Then I will see work start to come to me and then I have only really 3 hours to make any money. Happens at every end of the pay period, especially with a holiday slump mixed in this time it's worse. Feels like I am fighting for the jobs of which in almost 2 hours have been only 3 to come my way.

There's a lack of work on both weekends, not just the end of the pay period. There has always been a shortage of work even on the biggest accounts at times of the day when physicians usually dictate (early a.m. for admits and op reports, mid or late morning for discharge notes, late afternoon or late evening for catching up on any reports). The work runs out on all shifts. I work multiple accounts, both transcription and SR, and I still struggle to find work.

Overall, FN is a better company than most. Struggling to make enough income can mean spending many more hours in the day or week. It's hard to get ahead.

When I contacted my representative about Amnerican transcription jobs being outsourced, my rep said there was a shortage of qualified transcriptionists in the United States. Do you suppose he got his information from the money mongers who justify their greed by filling our repesentatives' heads full of this bull. There are plenty of qualified transcriptionists in the US; the MTSOs just do not want to pay for quality. It is about money Mr. misinformed senator!!! ...

Not sure what is up with them. They have several ads again but there is absolutely no work for us long timers. Suspect they are hiring newbies and paying less to get the work done. BTW, do not ever expect an increase in line rate. You will NEVER get one. Also do not expect to attain those bonuses they talk about in the ads - they have now made it impossiible to reach that level by maknig work unavailable, once you get close to making the bonus you can expect to see no work available ...

Wondering if anyone on here uses FutureNet (possibly the glitchiest, most annoying transcription software ever created). I use it at work. When I started using it, it seemed to have a pretty good medical dictionary in it -- recognized all the medical terminology and almost all of the drugs, so I ASSUMED that all that was included. I recently went back there part-time to supplement my day job after quitting because I got real tired of the highly fluctuating work flows. My husband really pushed me to do this because we needed the extra money. Once again, there is never any work for me to do, and yet they are hiring again? Saying they need 2nd and 3rd shift?
