Has anyone been able to make over the equivalent of $5.00/hour on the MModal platform they are switching all their accounts to? I see they are now advertising for MTs on another site yet fail to mention it is for MModal.

After 3 years of making great money, a flexible schedule and a great supervisor, I was no longer able to make money and left. I was really sorry to go but there was no reason to stay.

Thank you for validating that I am not the only person who just cannot make lines on this horrible platform. Based on the memos, it looks like a bunch of the accounts and work types are being moved over to M-Modal. I am really annoyed that the supervisors did not stick up for the workers and protest the use of this platform when people told them that it was nonproductive. Obviously MTs/MEs have left. Besides there having been a lack of work for a long time, this has to be another factor that people finally gave up on FN. I personally have one foot out the door. Who can live on speech wreck wages, let alone this garbage platform dropping our hourly income even further?

No, it is not just you. I have never made over $5 an hour on M-Modal. I see they are complaining about the accounts going out of TAT now. Maybe it is because no matter how hard you work, you get nothing done. FutureNet does not care about the transcriptionists. It is all about the dollars.

My income per hour was pretty good on IType, then stayed even on EHR (traditional transcription), but whenever I worked in SR, my hourly average dropped a lot. Now on MM, it has dropped again.

I too am finding I make less than $5 an hour with the M*MODAL. Right now, I am just trying to finish school, take my boards and hopefully work in the next couple of months. Once that happens, am out of there. My husband and I am so tired of working hard and making no money.

The way I understand it, FN says 1 line in SR is equal to 2 lines in traditional transcription. In other words, in SR it is 130-space line. Traditional transcription is 65-space line. So when FN says they pay 0.045 cpl for SR that means for a 130-space line. In other words, 0.0225 cpl (65-space line) for SR. That is why we can't make more than $5 an hour.

I do not quite follow your calculations but I do agree the way FN calculates the rate for SR has flaws. It is my understanding whatever rate you contract to, for example 8 cents a line regular typing, your SR rate is half that, i.e. 4 cents a line. I have never been given a straight answer as to what the MM rate is and I do not believe that any of the lines typed in MM go toward any bonus. I also believe that FN must be hiring either newbies or otherwise persons with little to no medical transcription background and hiring them at slave labor rates to be able to replace MTs whom they have hired in the past at higher rates. With the economy the way it is, FN would have a vast supply of applicants to the ad they are running. I make this comment after seeing numerous emails beating on ALL MTs/MEs regarding quality of work when it would make sense to only address the MT/ME who is at fault. (Why would a good supervisor continually beat on good MTs/MEs?) Back to the point though - the SR line rate does not reflect the fact that most jobs in SR need major overhauling and retyping (at half the rate you would get in a regular typing report). But FN sounds determined to move ahead with MM replace even SR, therefore bringing down again an hourly equivalent. I have nothing constructive to add here for FN - they are driving away a good work force IMO and to quote someone else, "you pay peanuts, you hire monkeys."

I make the least amount ever on M-Modal than any other speech platform I have ever worked on. I can make better line counts on their EHR platform, but M-Modal is just the worst.

Of note, supervisor sent out an e-mail to a secondary MTSO again for help. FN uses a bunch of smaller MTSOs to catch up on the work. Not sure if they use these people every day or just on an as needed basis. This is not new. You have to wonder what terrible rates those people are making with the extra middle man.

I feel like FN is a sinking ship, at least for myself. It has started to sink me financially and I have made an escape plan.

I hope everyone has a backup plan and I wish all good luck in the future with finding alternative companies or careers.

I have worked on Futurenet for the last couple of years and am about ready to throw in the towel. You cannot make any worthwhile money on this platform.

Not sure what is up with them. They have several ads again but there is absolutely no work for us long timers. Suspect they are hiring newbies and paying less to get the work done. BTW, do not ever expect an increase in line rate. You will NEVER get one. Also do not expect to attain those bonuses they talk about in the ads - they have now made it impossiible to reach that level by maknig work unavailable, once you get close to making the bonus you can expect to see no work available ...

Wondering if anyone on here uses FutureNet (possibly the glitchiest, most annoying transcription software ever created). I use it at work. When I started using it, it seemed to have a pretty good medical dictionary in it -- recognized all the medical terminology and almost all of the drugs, so I ASSUMED that all that was included. So now we have a newbie, and when SHE uses FutureNet, it marks every single drug as an error (red wavy line), as well as all the medical terms. I'm to ...

I recently went back there part-time to supplement my day job after quitting because I got real tired of the highly fluctuating work flows. My husband really pushed me to do this because we needed the extra money. Once again, there is never any work for me to do, and yet they are hiring again? Saying they need 2nd and 3rd shift? Picking up from a thread earlier this month that is buried. Does anyone have any knowledge as to what is going on with this company? Many of their accounts always had limited work.
