There is no work at FutureNet. Even in the SR accounts, there is no work today. What has happened to this company? I need a job where there is work to do. Any suggestions? Do those of you who work there just keep hanging on and waiting for a job to come through?

This has been weeks with 'no jobs available' and a huge lack of work on both the transcription and SR side. I work on multiple accounts, so that's not the answer. A huge account has minimal work in it daily with only the worst dictators left to transcribe.

Check the ads on all the usual MT sites and then start sending out your resume and applying on-line.

I'm moving on. I found multiple options to choose from. Hope people find a way to make an income.

FutureNet advertised for SR people just 2-3 weeks ago. They have only advertised for SR in recent months. It's my understanding that the work keeps moving over to the SR side of their world.

If there is no work on the SR side, then one possibility is that they have over hired.

I too believe they have overhired - they run close to TAT on a couple of their accounts and rather than send out an email asking for us to pitch in and try to do more - believe they overhired thinking sitation would worsen with vacations coming up etc. It has been this way now 5 weeks - slow on both sides - the only account with any steady work is the oncology one. I only work really 1 account - so will work my 4 hours and move on to another job - I don't think they manage very well for sure.

Actually, the huge oncology account has had minimal work, and only the worst dictators. No matter what time of day I have tried to work, I have come up with the dreaded 'no jobs available.' This was an account that always had plenty of work, other than some weekends. This account is now on SR. I am truly sick and tired of these companies that over hire, share accounts with other MTSOs, claim to believe in quality work, but really only care about their bottom line.

Other forms of business DO NOT treat their workers in this manner. Labor laws just do not allow this sort of lack of business ethics.

about the onc account - today that account is dry also - as it was yesterday - thought that was because of the holiday - just read somewhere else FN might be sending overflow to another company - that thought did not occur to me - duh - would make sense - I don't know why - but shocked all the same -

I, too, worked at FT & when I started over a year and a half ago there was tons of work. I recently had to quit and move on, as even the oncology account was running dry which had never happened before. It's a huge account so either they have overhired or are sending overflow elsewhere which makes no sense. Also, their demand of 100% accuracy makes no sense; 98-99% accuracy yes, but 100% ~ Come on, we are human and that is just not always possible! Had to move on!!

Read your contract over. There's nothing in it about % quality scores. There is a page listed as quality agreement that includes a list of 13 error items that can result in penalty or disciplinary action. This company, as far as I know, does not perform any formal quality reviews of a transcriptionist's or speech recognition specialist's reports once off initial review on a new account. The company encourages you to send any problems or questions to the QA staff.

It's a shame there is minimal work to perform for this company. They have some good qualities. Those qualities, unfortunately, do not pay my bills.

Not sure what is up with them. They have several ads again but there is absolutely no work for us long timers. Suspect they are hiring newbies and paying less to get the work done. BTW, do not ever expect an increase in line rate. You will NEVER get one. Also do not expect to attain those bonuses they talk about in the ads - they have now made it impossiible to reach that level by maknig work unavailable, once you get close to making the bonus you can expect to see no work available ...

Wondering if anyone on here uses FutureNet (possibly the glitchiest, most annoying transcription software ever created). I use it at work. When I started using it, it seemed to have a pretty good medical dictionary in it -- recognized all the medical terminology and almost all of the drugs, so I ASSUMED that all that was included. I recently went back there part-time to supplement my day job after quitting because I got real tired of the highly fluctuating work flows. My husband really pushed me to do this because we needed the extra money. Once again, there is never any work for me to do, and yet they are hiring again? Saying they need 2nd and 3rd shift? Picking up from a thread earlier this month that is buried. Does anyone have any knowledge as to what is going on with this company? Many of their accounts always had limited work. FN has again posted an ad for editors/speech rec people to work on M-Modal. It appears that people are leaving due to this platform. FN does not appear to have acquired new accounts.
