Anybody know about SmartMed? - Thinking of applying

Good accounts, fair pay, not difficult to work for. All in all, in our current economy, not a bad company to work for. Give it a try.

heard a ton of tallll tales, usually about why there were no jobs daily. (I did not do acute care, though.) They also did 'cut backs' a couple of times, due to the economy we were told, so their heads may be just above water, treading hard to stay above. Had gone belly up in the remote past, changed their name to wipe their slate clean and stay in business. Pretty sure they offshore.

I currently work for Smartmed. Have been here over 10 years. Yesterday, they have done cut-backs with the last one about 2 weeks ago. They have lost a lot of accounts in the past 2 years. I have only 1 account to work now and it runs out of work throughout the day. Benefits have been trimmed waaay back. Pay is probably next. Lost the cost of living raise we had. In January, they are supposedly going to determine how the latest cut-backs have helped the company. I'm riding this out but I'd think twice if I was you about applying here. This is the truth. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from working here but just FYI.

It comes out to a SMALL percentage of your earnings. My average was $30-40 per payperiod. Now that's gone as of 10/1. As long as they don't mess with the pay scale, I'm sticking around for awhile.

I see they have an ad. I worked there but left for family tragedy. I am giving them an unsolicited endorsement. Wonderful, friendly women. they do have teaching accounts so not for newbies. If you want to work for a good company and deal with sane individuals, I recommend them. I did not make tons of money there (but where can you anymore) but it was certainly refreshing to deal with adults. ...

I see there are 2 dislikes on the Smartmed job listing that was posted tonight. I sent in my resume a little bit after it was posted and before I saw that. Anyone work for them currently? I couldn't find much in the archives about them.
