A medical scribe career is a TOTALLY different animal than MT. You are not typing what is being said and you have to have knowledge of terminology enough to enter information in your own words. You can either scribe asynchronously or synchronously (live). It pays by the hour and I have heard that many MTs cannot cut it and cannot just transition to being a scribe. Look into it. Go to youtube.com and look for scribe videos to get an idea of what is entailed. Decide for yourself if you want to make the transition and get trained or not. Yes MT is being transitioned to medical scribes - remote or in-person. Good luck.
