I have no dogs in the fight; however, I think both sides are correct. Unless the wage scale has changed (which I doubt lol), QA folks don't make much more than does the transcriptionists. However, a really, really good QA could scan many reports in a relatively short time and spot many errors. Some folks are freaks of nature like that. I've never worked for Nuance, lol, but I loved doing this when employed at my local hospital. I am very good at proofreading and editing and I can read super fast...like it stinks to try reading my newspaper over my shoulder because I'll be on page 5 when most folks are still reading page 1. Interesting thread, regardless. I was surprised this evening to find my old posts in the group from back when my hospital was taken over by Nuance :)
