For instance, maybe the first one or two audited are specifically from the most difficult dictators on the account. If they can't find something in them, they move on, but there is probably some software or algorithm that helps determine where to look for the "best" results. These QA likely don't have to spend as much time as you think in order to find what they need, given the poor quality of the dictations we are presented with each day, along with confusing client specs, etc, etc. Plus, every little misplaced comma (or whatever) counts. If their efforts produce a reduction of an MLS' salary that exceeds the QA's salary paid for the time needed to find it, they have succeeded in reaching their goal.
