Tips On Staying Focused Anyone?! Oct 12, 2010Normally, I'm very disciplined about work. I have a very stable job, very good pay, great accounts. I am just having trouble staying on task.

Your Tips For Staying Attentive. Dec 30, 2010I am an independent contractor and do the transcription for a busy family practice office. I use Instant Text, macros and autocorrect, and I also use my timer to keep myself productive. But sometimes I struggle with productivity and focusing. I'd love to hear people's tips here on how they stay focused when your mind is pulled other places, and, also, your best tips for increasing your speed! Staying Awake On Third Shift Aug 10, 2011I was just wondering how many other people work third shift and have such trouble staying awake? I have been doing third shift for a while and it's HARD!!! I have a new baby and my husband watches him in the day, but I cannot seem to get more than 4 hours of sleep during the day and then I try to take a nap in the evening before work, but I am STILL having problems staying awake and I know being tired sets one up for disaster for mistakes. Help With Motivation/staying On Task Aug 08, 2012Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with/power through horrendous audio quality reports? We have had these reports on my primary account for 2 months now and my company refuses to do anything about them. I turn the volume all the way up and still can barely hear the dictator over all the static. I struggle to figure out what they are saying, but I find myself "checking out" and losing focus and motivation to get through these reports after a while. How does everyone else do it? ...

Staying Focused/Motivated At Home Nov 28, 2010Hi, I was wondering for those of you who work at home, what type of methods do you you use to stay focused at home, ie. environment, lighting, and so forth? I like working at home but there are days when I'm easily distracted by the littlest thing and it slows down my line count or I need a break for my eyes to get away from looking at words on the computer screen. ...
Anyone Have Any Tips On Staying Alert/functional During 3rd Shift? Sm Feb 27, 2014I only have an hour window between my 2nd shift job and the 3rd shift job, and I try to sneak in a nap, but after a couple of hours I find myself yawning and losing focus. Coffee doesn't seem to help nor do any of the energy drinks. So far, 5 minutes of jumping jacks or something every hour has helped the most, but I still feel I am not at my best (and my production shows it).
Any tips you might have would be greatly appreciated. TIA. ...

Need Tech Help Please Jan 31, 2013I signed up for a free college course on Coursera and it says I cannot view the assignment becuase I have Internet explorer 9. It says I need to use Google Chrome or Firefox or Safari. Will this change everything on my computer? I dont like "change" and I am freaked out about putting something on my computer and then not being able to find what I need or whatever.

"I'm Just Staying Positive" Dec 28, 2011This morning a local morning talk DJ had an interesting segment. He was responding to a woman who had called in, complaining that he didn't have anything "positive" to say. His response was, "Oh, I am POSITIVELY certain that we are all getting screwed!" (Comments were in reference to Congress extending the debt ceiling.)
This reminded me of the asinine phrase, "I'm just going to be POSITIVE!" that I hear over and over, usually from women, most of whom are MTs.&n ...
Tech Help With Escription Jan 06, 2010What are your computer specs?
DH brought up a good question tonight. I have recently moved from my old faithful with 80 MB hard drive with 512 memory to 380 GB hard drive with 3 MB memory. i have had nothing but problems with Escription and not making my lines. I can't just use the shortcut keys and I can't use my expander. DH stated maybe I don't have what I need in the computer to make things work correctly (this coming from someone who never touched one in his life!).&nbs ...

Radiology Tech Job? Dec 05, 2012Does anybody know what is involved in becoming a radiology tech? You know, doing mammos, CTs, etc. I know one needs schooling, but is there a lot of math, geometry, spatial stuff, and things like that? I am NOT good in those things, so I don't want to invest any time or money trying to do something that I know I'm not good at.
Thanks, just checking into other careers besides this!

Tech People Oct 11, 2014Honestly, why is it that tech wants to make an MTs' life miserable.
Just got a new thing to fill out and I cannot open it. I have never used Excel if that is what it is.
My computer has no program for me to open it.
At any rate, I wonder why these people have to make things so hard.
This new computer, a Windows 7 (which I had to have to do my work) is so complicated now.
You don't get these other programs like you did on the other computers. You have to buy Word, Excel ...
FutureNet Tech Dec 16, 2014I was hired by FNT a couple of months ago and have found their editing platform less than ideal as it relates to production. It's awkward and cumberson, allowing neither keyboard or mouse proficiency; it's a bad combination of both.
I'm wondering if anyone out there has worked at FutureNet and found the secret to making money with their no-name platform that's Word based but does not allow auto-correct and has reassigned Word keyboard commands for their own use.
Also, ...

Medical Billing Or Rad Tech Mar 26, 2010im 48 and need to get out of MT altogether, i cant afford to make it in this economy. Im going to be moving in with a friend for a while to rebuild and want to take some classes.
I do not have a degree of any kind. What do you think would be the fastest route to at least make above 40 grand a year? The medical coding or the a rad tech of some sort? Even thought about occupational therapy but that program may take more than 2 years. I need something within about 18 ...
