Voice Files, Players - OldBroad

Posted: May 02, 2011

Hello,

This is for the small MTSO or MT who serves a few clients:

Which method are you using for accessing digital audio files?  If FTP. are the dictators downloading them on your website or are you accessing them from theirs?   Anyone here using one of the services for this?  If so, which one and how is the cost working out?

Also was interested in info on transcribing/player software, particularly QuickScribe.

Thanks.

I have a small office client who uses an FTP. They use Olympus recorders and provided FlashFXP for me to get the voice files. They upload voice files to the FlashFXP program, and I sign onto that site to download. I transcribe them in my Word and upload completed work into the same program.

They provided an Olympus AS2400 transcription module for me. I'm not sure what you mean about using a service so can't address that. I also don't know about QuickScribe, but I think I could transfer them to Express Scribe and transcribe them in that.

Voice Files...dictation Line

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the easiest method to use for obtaining voice files. Would it be to have the doctor dictate and then upload to an FTP site? Way To Save Voice Files In EBTXT?
Jul 21, 2013

I work on eBTXT and am told there is no way for me to relisten to the audio after it goes to QA, but of course my TSM can, which gets me nowhere.  Is there a way to save the voice file to my computer?  I would of course delete any patient demographics.  I hate not being able to relisten to my reports that QA reviewed, especially since they're just guessing and changing what they want.  I haven't been able to locate anywhere on my computer where files are stored even ...

Testing Voice Files With Patient Information?
Jun 11, 2013

Synernet Testing.. Can't Get Voice Files To Play
Jun 10, 2015

One of those MTtest sites.  Called their help desk and they said a lot of people have trouble, not to worry and try this.   I tried that.  Nothing.  They said to call back and they would work it out.  I don't know if this is worth it.  The testing portions were fine, went quickly but just trying to get the transcription part up is time consuming and frustrating.  Anyone else have problems with this? ...

Hi, does anybody know of any free downloads that will play DS2 files.  I am currently using Olympus which is not controlled by a foot pedal so it is taking quite a long time to get through these files.  I know ByteScribe works well, but costs 99 dollars and I do not have the money at this time and have already used the free 14-day trial.  Thanks in advance!! ...

Wav Players For Mac
Jan 23, 2015

I am currently using a Mac for work, which mostly consists of proofreading and editing rather than straight transcription, and use Express Scribe for Mac. The sound quality is awful. I'm pretty sure it's related to ES because I can pull up the same files in other audio programs (Wave Pad, for example) and the sound quality is much, much better. Does anyone have a suggestion on an application to use instead of Express Scribe that can be controlled by the keyboard with hotkeys rathe ...

What's The Best Program To Run DSS Files On?
