My headsets are getting old and I need another headset - PAMT

My headsets are getting old and I need another headset. I like the kind that are like a stethoscope that fits into the ears. I know I dont like the aluminum one because the sound is muffly. Any suggestions for a headset that fits into the ears that doesnt break all the time and has very good sound.

I used to use the headsets that fit into the ears, but now I have a pair of Sony Dynamic Stereo Headphones, Model MDR-V150. The sound quality is excellent, almost like the speaker is standing next to you talking in your ear. I will never go back to an in-ear headset again.

I have found sometimes that when they sit on the outside of my ears my ears hurt from them on there. That is the only problem I have found. Do your ears get sore. I work very long hours.

They did at first until I got the headset adjusted just right. Now -- no problem.

If you google "transcription headsets" there are tons of companies to choose from and tons of styles. I just got a new set with volume control that I just love. They sit outside your ear but not the earmuff type (which I hate).

I guess that is why I stick to the stethoscope type. I work long hours and some of the ones I have tried kill my ears.

I use the Koss DC-10 headphones. They are stethoscope but - LaLaMT

they have rubber earbuds that sit inside your ear. They are very lightweight and I don't have that feeling that they are boring into my ear drums! My ears would get sore with the other type of "in your ears" style and the metal type stethoscope headsets are awful. I found this and I absolutely love. My ears don't get sore. Sometimes I forget I have them on and get up from my desk and try to walk away only to realize I'm still connected to my PC! Plus I can clean the rubber earbuds with alcohol wipes which is soooo nice.

I like the ear bud type that sit inside my ears. I purchase headsets that fit with ipods, walkmans, etc. and bought an extension for less than $15 at Best Buy. If they are uncomfortable, you can take them back. A coworker bought a set from QVC! I've tried going back to my "former" headsets but always return to the ear buds.

I transcribe and edit what I actually do hear, but get QA feedback from another planet. I am not a newbie MT, though new on my current account. I figure they must use secret magical headsets to hear what they do. Often QA isn't even on the same page with each other even on account specs. So, it must be the magical headsets. I have been transcribing and editing for over 11 years and have ALWAYS used Spectra headsets, but having recently switched jobs where their platform could only be downloaded onto my personal computer and not my work computer, I've found that I'm not getting enough volume with the Spectras. Does anyone know where to get GOOD quality ones? I've been suckered TWICE by buying them online---they are these little thin things that break every single time before I can get them over the ear piece. The only ones I've found so far that are good are the ones that come with the headset, but I don't want to buy a new headset every time I just need new pads. I am sorry to say that my old ones work better for me. I think they would be ok, but I get a lot of (what I think is) cellphone audio, and they just don't work as well for that. I did a search and couldn't really find what I was looking for. I need to buy a new headset. Does anyone use or know of a headset that really brings up the "volume." I'm looking to purchase a new headset for transcription. I had a Philips SHM-7500 and it lasted for 6 years. It's no longer being sold other than on E-bay from Korea ;) I have heard good things about both the Logitech h540 and the Spectra USB Transcription Headset, two totally different styles. Has anyone else ever had a problem with a radio station being played through their headsets? This is driving me crazy!
