Recommend a headset, please - SR

I'm looking to purchase a new headset for transcription. I had a Philips SHM-7500 and it lasted for 6 years. It's no longer being sold other than on E-bay from Korea ;) I have heard good things about both the Logitech h540 and the Spectra USB Transcription Headset, two totally different styles. Any input/recommendations for these or any others? I use it on the computer, not for cassette tapes. The Philips had the open ear cushions while the Logitech has flat padding.

I have used various different headsets, and I love my the under-the-chin Spectra USB headphones. These are the best, and they don't mess up your hair! ;)

Is there a model number? Are all the Spectras under-the-chin or can you chose to wear them that way instead of the traditional way? I use exclusively Express Scribe, so I need a set that works well with that and gives me clear sound. I love my Shure earphones. I just replaced my old ones with the SE215. They are a bit pricey ($99), but well worth it in my opinion. I love the fact that you can tuck the cords behind your ears so they don't get in the way and they have nice clear, loud sound. They also block out a large amount of background noise (I have to take them out if someone is standing next to me and talking because I can't hear what they are saying). The new ones have replaceable cords, so hopefully they will last a long time. The company does stand before their warranty, and I have had a couple pairs replaced at no cost in the past when they quit working after about a year of use.

Sennheiser HD 202 Purchased on-line from the company Newegg.com for about $25.00. They also have them at Best Buy but for a little bit more. They are noise cancelling. Some people don't like the fact that they completely cover your ear and say that the material gets too hot and your ears sweat. I haven't had any problems even during the winter months. I live along the main highway and lots of traffic noise during the day.

I am sorry to say that my old ones work better for me. I think they would be ok, but I get a lot of (what I think is) cellphone audio, and they just don't work as well for that. I did a search and couldn't really find what I was looking for. I need to buy a new headset. Does anyone use or know of a headset that really brings up the "volume." I got one from Transcription Gear a few years ago but it really didn't do what I thought it would. Has anyone else ever had a problem with a radio station being played through their headsets? This is driving me crazy! Hi, one side of my headphones quit working. Any ideas? - It is the same way no matter what I listen to so not the fault of transcription software. thx for any ideas. Sounds stupid, but I can't remember what they are now ... but I think Transcription Gear (sounds right). I want to get an aluminum stethoscope headset because I used to use one onsite at the cancer center I worked for and absolutely loved it. I do have a question though. What type of plug-in would I need? I want to plug it into my speaker and I now use the Emdat Inscribe platform. Anyone know of a reasonably priced headset with microphone (not wireless) that has the big ear pads that fit over the whole ear not just on the ear. I'm talking an ear pad about 2-1/2 x 3 inches. The one I'm using isn't all that tight, it's just that after a whole day one of my ears hurts from even the small amount of pressure. I need stereo. Hoping for under $100. ...
