Does Windows 7 have an autocorrect?

Has anyone ever wanted to work for a company that only used Windows XP and you had Windows 7 but could virtually move to XP mode? Could you download their software on the XP mode side and get it to work? I had a job interview where their software only worked on XP. I thought I could do that, but I had to also have Word 2003. I was watching someone use an expander and when she misspelled her short form (she hit space and nothing happened), she backed up to the word and backed over the last misspelled 4 or so letters of a long string, and typed in some new ones, and the whole short form expanded the way she wanted. AutoCorrect seems much easier to deal with, but won't handle long canned text, and there is no "normals" program in eScription I can add long reports to. This happened to me a while back with another job, and someone here gave instructions how to delete all the words that I inadvertantly somehow coded that made it so these words when accompanied by a period, did not auto-cap the next word (beginning of next sentence).
