I love transcribing medical reports, but everytime I get "SR" my enthusiasm takes a hit and I wonder why MQ thinks that SR reports are "easier" or faster when in reality one really has to stay alert and be well educated in medical terminology and human anatomy in order not to miss something that was "recognized" incorrectly and sometimes downright ridiculously! Two weeks ago I was notified my account was being offshored. I was moved to a new account. While not a fantastic thing, I thought hey, at least this account has ED reports. I started working for a company 2 weeks ago and it's about 99% VR, so I just edit all day. Sometimes I would rather type it because it would be faster than editing. My region has just brought on a few new accounts which would be considered a good thing for most but here is my problem. I'm an MME so these new accounts are all 100% QA which means I've only made $0.03 cpl for days now. I have an odd question. If a US trained Medical Transcriptionist works from home (in the U.S.), but then decides to spend 1/2 the year (or more) in a foreign country, is it possible (ethical/legal) to continue working as an MT while in that country?
