anybody else have good - work one day and the next

ITS HORRIBLE and you are barely making your lines for that night? This is like clockwork. I will have a good day of dictation, speakers that actually make sense eventhough the VR still stinks and high line counts...the very next day, I am stuck with the worst speakers out there and barely get anything done and line counts to make you cry. Is this just me by coincidence or anybody else have this issue too??

I'll get a good broad, typical range of dictators one day; the next day, or part of it, I'll get the worst of the worst--both the slowest reports to do and the most difficult dictators. That's why I thought it was cherrypicking--the remainder is 100% the stuff no one wants to do. I'm very fast, and Sunday morning I literally averaged about 150 LPH.
My percent to QA is also going through the roof from the volume of unintelligible dictations, and I've always taken pride in sending very, very little to QA.
This is no way to treat us. This company is unbelievable. I'm finally agreeing with all the nasty yammerers--it IS now the worst of the worst.

[ In Reply To ..]Look at the times those were dictated and figure out if they are coming to you in time priority. Of course, the work type will have to be the same so that the priority is the same time-wise. I believe the work comes to us based on difficult dictator rather than based on time priority so that they can avoid sending difficult work offshore. I have sent several E-mails to ask why this happens with, so far, no response.

For a brief 2 days I was put on non-DSP status and had a Q full of good speakers and work, none of the crap, except for a few here and there. After those 2 days and back on DSP status, it was business as usual. One day of really good work, good lines, making progress. The very next day, the worst of the worst. Sorry, but I despise having to spend 20+ minutes on a short 2 minute dictation b/c a speaker cannot be professional enough to actually speak. I don't get paid enough for that crap and when you are on a string of that crap its frustrating. Even logging out and logging back in a few minutes later, stuck with the same ol' crap.

Makes no difference that I know of to the dictator. Doesn't save him or her any money. Probably a negative for the patient, as I sincerely believe there is a bigger chance of their medical record being less than accurate. I have been an MT for 8 years before moving up to the MME position recently. I told myself that I would never nitpick as I experienced in the past. I still hold true to that. We are to only fill in the blanks unless we note an obvious error, then its full QA, except we get paid the fill-in-the-blank line rate rather than 100% QA line rate (3 cpl rather than 4). After struggling financially and being increasingly unhappy with my job for three years (yes, only three years) I am officially DONE with MT work. I have other skills that would be more fullfilling to pursue and i'm going to do it. Honestly, i'd settle for a job at a grocery store at this point. At least i'd have a steady paycheck. I had been feeling so fortunate, getting mostly good dictators in recent months, but now, in the past couple of weeks, all I'm getting are dictators with thick accents with bad sound quality and static or female dicators with high-pitched, monotone voices that are like fingernails on a chalk board. I could do MT in my sleep. I fill in blanks with almost a 100% completion rate. My QA scores are excellent. Any specialty, name it, I know it. And yet I'm embarrassed to tell anyone what I do because NOBODY CARES ANYMORE. And I can't find a job doing anything else either. There just aren't any jobs that really require this skill.
